Alt-Bechburg Ruins

The Alt-Bechburg castle ruins, which stand above the village of Holderbank, were built around the year 1050 by the Lords of Bechburg. From Alt-Bechburg, the knights could overlook the area stretching from Holderbank to Hauenstein, Langenbruck, and all the way to the Gäu region. The stone remains of the castle ruins are now listed as cultural assets of national significance.
There are picnic areas and fire pits in the area. It is also open year-round and easily accessible via hiking trails. From the top, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the surrounding area.
