Experience the natural beauty of the Olten region in all its splendor on the local mountain, the Born. It is almost entirely covered by a wonderful mixed forest. There are lovely picnic areas and great views, and a visit to the Born Chapel as well as the 1,000er Stägelis near Aarburg make the mountain a popular local recreation area. 
The9th Solothurn Forest Hikeoffers various routes around the Born. You can also explore the Bänkliweg trail near Kappel or the Sculpture Trail near Olten. 

There’s also plenty to discover at Bally Park in Schönenwerd. The park surprises visitors with its Aare River landscape, its pile dwellings, and its English-style grounds. Within the park, you’ll find ponds and canals set in a natural landscape, complete with pagodas and grottoes. The miniature pile dwellings are a unique feature of the park in Europe.
