St. Martin's Church, Egerkingen

Built on the foundations of a Roman estate, the original structure likely dates back to the 7th or 8th century. The
St. Martin Church was first mentioned in writing in 1294. Having grown gradually over the centuries, the 1708 expansion defines its architectural style. It was the Baroque period; for St. Martin’s Church in Egerkingen, this meant a simple exterior and ornate details inside. The church, with its Käsbissenturm, is a defining feature of the village’s skyline.
