2026 Annual General Meeting
The 35th General Assembly was held on Monday, June 22, 2026, in the Rittersaal in Solothurn.
President Walter Straumann and Executive Director Stefan Ulrich presided over the 35th General Assembly. All items on the agenda were approved unanimously. Walter Straumann was given a ceremonial send-off after 13 years as president, and Anita Panzer was unanimously elected to succeed him. Peter Lustenberger, representing the hotel industry, is retiring after a 30-year term on the board and was given a warm send-off with applause. Goran Arnaut, a board member of Gastro Solothurn, was newly elected to the board. BARGETZI Revisions AG was reappointed as the auditing firm for another year.
Following the business portion of the meeting, EBP Schweiz AG, the firm commissioned for this purpose, presented the results of the tourism value-added study. In 2025, the canton of Solothurn recorded a total of 1.2 million overnight stays and 5.2 million day visitors. Compared to the last such study in 2017, visitor numbers thus rose by 4%. Gross value added from tourism exceeded CHF 300 million for the first time, representing an 8% increase over 2017.
