Lake Burgäschi

About 6,000 years ago, the shores of Lake Moorse were settled by lake-dwelling people. In addition, the lords of Äschi built a castle in the 12th century, which was destroyed during a battle 200 years later. Since 2011, these archaeological sites have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Information panels have been installed along the shore to provide insights into this eventful period.
Today, Lake Burgäschi is a place of relaxation. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, swim, take a walk, and row. The loop trail around the lake takes about half an hour. Swimming is permitted at the public swimming area and at the beach. You can rent a rowboat from the boat rental shop for a leisurely trip on the lake.
Since part of Lake Burgäschi is a nature reserve, canoeing, rubber dingo trips, and stand-up paddleboarding are not permitted.
