Grenchen-Bettleschloss Castle

width="1400"

Grenchen Castle was founded at the end of the 10th century by the barons of the town of Grenchen. It was one of the “clearing castles” in the Jura Mountains and existed as a wooden castle for over 150 years. In the mid-12th century, a stone castle was built on the Schlossfluh. It consisted of the lower castle and the upper castle (main castle).
